Detroit Michigan distillery
With its ideal climate and access to local farmers, the Great Lakes State has long been a top producer of whiskey. And with the end of Prohibition, that hard-drinking tradition has come back into vogue.
The Distillery: This one-of-a-kind Detroit Michigan distillery property is home to Detroit City Distillery, a small-batch artisanal gin and whiskey distillery that was founded by eight childhood friends to bring alcohol back to the traditional way. They use only the highest quality Michigan ingredients to create their spirits, ranging from vodka to gins and whiskeys.
Whiskey Barrel Bourbon: This bourbon is aged in old beer barrels for up to 90 days, giving it a bready and biscuit character. It is also made with a blend of local Michigan wheat.

Ann Arbor Distilling: Located in a repurposed 1904 flour mill, the distillery is seriously committed to the Great Lakes State. More than 90% of the ingredients they use in their vodka, gins, whiskeys and liqueurs are from local farms.
Two James Spirits: Co-founded by Peter Bailey, this distillery uses Michigan grains in their bourbon, rye, and gin. The distillers hand-bottle and label each bottle.
Grand Traverse: Grains for this bourbon are sourced from Send Brothers, who are a family-owned farm in Traverse County. Owner Kent Rabish has been in business since 2007, and Perry Harmon, a superb mixologist, is part of his close-knit team.
The distillery offers tastings and tours, as well as a premier venue space for weddings and other events. It is located in a historic downtown Detroit property.
