The International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) is a non-profit organisation that promotes the safe use of powered access equipment worldwide. It aims to provide a safe working environment for all workers using MEWPs and other powered access equipment. This link
IPAF training courses are designed to provide delegates with the knowledge and skills to operate equipment safely. They are available as both classroom and e-learning options. These courses can be completed anytime, anywhere, with the same high quality theory training as the traditional classroom-based option.
IPAF training is based on a three-stage principle: engage, build, consolidate. This method builds on a candidate’s existing knowledge and skills, enabling them to recognize potential risks and develop safe operating techniques. In addition, the course provides the knowledge and ability to respond appropriately in emergency situations.
RECOGNISED AND ACCREDITED COURSES
The IPAF training programme is certified by TUV. Upon completion, delegates are awarded a PAL card, or Powered Access Licence. A PAL card is a proof of operator qualification, demonstrating that a person has achieved high standards in IPAF training. PAL cards are a recognized global standard.
IPAF training courses are designed to help operators of mobile elevating working platforms learn how to work safely. Each category is designed to cover specific types of MEWPs. For example, IPAF 1a training is aimed at static vertical lifts, while IPAF 3a training is aimed at mobile personnel platforms.
During IPAF training, delegates will complete a series of practical and theoretical assessments, as well as an exam. At the end of the day, a successful delegate will receive both an IPAF Card/Powered Access Licence and an assessment report.
